Public service announcement:
When serving Passover dinner, NEVER place the dish or horseradish in front of a toddler with a spoon.
Trust me on this one….
Happy Easter to those who celebrate

At sunset today, we begin the Pesach season! We are going to Cleveland this year (how is this year different from other years? it ISN’T) and we leave tomorrow!
I am thrilled to see the girls get excited over Passover. It is a fun holiday. There has been much debate over the Kosher laws lately. Although I tend to think this is normal. We believe rice is kosher during Passover.
That’s our rule and we are sticking to it! Too much Matzoh will kill anyone’s intestines!
So I will be checking in from my In-law’s house and trying to relax this weekend starting tomorrow, once we are off the plane!
Happy Passover to those who celebrate!
Now- where was that chocolate covered matzoh brittle recipe….
After 4 years of not getting 8 hours of sleep every night, I have reached a new low.
For my birthday, we went out for dinner and some pool. I got a rich brownie dessert and did my usual, "serve me half and please box the other half". The ice cream that was boxed up melted while we were shooting pool. No problem, it refroze when we got home.
The next night, I decided to share with Dr. Jay. I cut the brownie in half. Then I tried to dig out the ice cream. Hmmm. too stiff from being melted and refrozen. Hey, there’s the butter knife that I used to cut the brownie! I know! I’ll just grab this styrofoam container of ice cream and CUT it! Yeah! Wow, this is tough, use more pressure….SON OF A B*TCH! The BUTTER knife went through the ice cream, through the container, through my finger.
It didn’t bleed too much, but since it is not healing well, I see a doctor today to see if I need to stitch it.
If I had sleep I might have, oh, thrown it in the microwave, or put it on the cutting board… Sigh…
I need more sleep!
Quick update….The NP told me that I would have gotten 2-3 stitches if I came in within 24 hours. I got a tetnus booster and sent on my way with a reminder that kids grow up fast and the first few years are tough.. She has 3 kids, two in college and the third is 16. Nice to have a talk like that. She understood the sleep issues…
Note for all. If you think you might need stitches, don’t wait longer than 24 hours. Apparently it will mess the healing process if you wait too long….
Sigh, Just got a call from J (aka Mom). Dad is in the hospital. Came down with an infection and the antibiotics he was taking weren’t helping. Took him to urgent care this morning and they sent him to the hospital. Poor guy has been fevering for 3 days and with chills….
Send some good thoughts to Waynesville NC if you have some to spare…

A few things before I disappear!
I was planning to drop my password protection. However, Dr. Jay has asked that I not do so. He is concerned because of how small our community (the astronomical one) is. I have agreed. Sorry folks.
Anyway, I really don’t mind if you send on my email to others to ask for the password. I usually grant it as long as their blog isn’t too creepy!
I have a large meeting in Orlando in May. I have an 8-12 page paper to write. It is to be submitted on April 24, but since I don’t work Mondays, and we are going away for Passover, I will be scarce the new few days. Hopefully, it will go quickly, but a technical paper is not tons of fun!
I have to complete this by Tuesday, so I will be hiding away frantically typing over the next few days. If you don’t see me, that’s where I am!
I had to travel to the City of Sin, MA this morning to pick up some clothes for Soleil. I got in touch with kikalee and we had some coffee and snack at Panera. It was great to take a few minutes…(over an hour) to just talk and really connect with someone.
Thanks again for the mocha and cookie and THANKS for sharing your time. I love the blog world some times!
