Soleil: "No Luna! I am going Poop!"
Luna: "I go poop! I go poop in potty!"
Sound of toilet seat slamming down
Luna: "NO CLOSE! I CLOSE IT! I DO IT ! WAHHHHHHHHH"
Me: "Soleil, why did you close the toilet when you knew Luna needed to use it?"
Soleil: "For good luck!"
Me: turn away before laughing
(and no, my just turned 2 year old is not potty trained, she just thinks she is)
Talk about depressed… July 6, 2006
Posted by spacemom in : Nance, Travel , 2 commentsOn Saturday night, I went to Buffalo, NY. This is the area I grew up in. My sister was having her 40th birthday party, and I found a cheap fare, so hey, why not?
This was an odd trip. It was 32 hours long. That’s pretty short. In that time I did the following:
- Played with my niece and nephews
- Talked to my parents who came up for the party.
- Talked with my uncle who I rarely see
- Visited with my sister’s mother in law who has finally decided that it’s okay that Dr. Jay is Jewish
- Visited my best friend Becky.
- Played Pokemon with her kids
- Had an impromptu birthday party for my friend Julie who now lives in Houston, but visits during the summer.
- Got into a car accident on the trip back to my sister’s, by a kid who just got his license.
- Had about 3 hours of sleep before going to the airport
- Picked up a cold that rivals almost any summer cold I have had.
Wow, what a busy trip.
The interesting part of all of this is how depressed the whole Western New York region looked. Some places I was familiar with growing up were now falling apart. The paint peeling, the roofs were weak. Cars looked older than I see in Boston. The area left me feeling sad.
On the way to visit Becky, I saw a sign "Make this a funner summer". I wanted to scream. This is common. And we wonder why our kids don’t know how to use English correctly.
I was pretty surprised by how dumpy everything looked and felt to me.
I wonder if you really can’t go back home…
Not good…. July 6, 2006
Posted by spacemom in : Fun with Crohn's Disease , 2 commentsDr. Jay is having a relapse with the Crohn’s. This is not good. He is more anemic than before and the doctor has told him to stop the 6MP and go up to 20mg of the prednisone. This is really a bad move. I want to see the numbers on the blood work, but we are starting to consider that a Crohn’s specialist may be the best move.
Just when you think it is safe to go back in the water….
