Sew Cool! April 22, 2007

I finished Luna’s dress tonight. She actually wore it yesterday, but I had screwed up the hem. Today, I ripped it out, and resewed it.

(and the Sabres won their series and the Red Sox beat the Yankees last night to make for a great night out!)

Nice job! Ambitious putting a zipper in your first garment. Looks like the trouble with the one armhole was caused by not clipping your curve enough. One other hint, instead of cutting out all the construction notches (the little triangles), just cut them off (you’ll still be able to see where they are on the pattern) and then make small clips in the seam allowance where the notches are. They’re just as easy to match, but a heck of a lot faster to cut.
