Summer grillin’– recipe added July 1, 2007
Posted by spacemom in : Life...otherwise , trackbackYesterday, I used my sourdough starter to make some awesome breads.
These are grilled Asiago Cheese Rounds. 4" rounds that you bake on the grill. 8 minutes to grill.
Yummy for the summer.
The recipe, From the King Arthur Baking Sheet
Starter: 3/4 cup King Arthur All purpose flour
1/2 cup water
1/8 tsp instant yeast
(I used 1.5 cups of my own sourdough starter instead)
Combine ingrediants and let rest for 4-8 hours or overnight. It is ready when bubbling.
Dough-
All of the starter
3/4c +2Tbsp water
1/2c semolina flour
2 tsp instant yeast
3 Tbsp olive oil
2 1/4 c King Arthur bread flour (or all-purpose)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2c freshly grated asiago cheese
2Tbsp dried parsley or 1/4 chopped fresh
olive oil for grilling
Combine started, water, yeast semolina and olive oil. Mix until smooth. Add the remaining ingrediants and mix until a dough forms. Knead or put in bread machine on dough setting. Let rise for 45 minutes or until doubled in volume.
Divide into 16 even balls. let rest for 10 minutes and set grill to medium high. (350 on ours)
flatten 8 balls into 4 inche rounds. Brush one side with olive oil. Put on the grill and lower the cover for 2 minutes. Turn the rounds 1/4 way WITHOUT FLIPPING (to get that nice diamond shape of the grill). after 2 more minutes, brush the tops with olive oil and flip. Cover with a tin pan (I used 1 tin for 2 breads). Grill for 3-4 minutes.
Repeat with the other 8 balls.
Eat!

MMMM….can you post the recipe?
Yum! That looks wonderful!
Wow, that look delicious!
Oh, good grief that looks yummy. As much as I love to bake, starting out with yeast just overwhelms me. Instead of the recipe, can you just send me some all ready made, overnight? Pregnant women get those kinds of favors, right?
Yummy! Are you the grill queen or what?
