Monday Mayday October 1, 2007
Posted by spacemom in : Kids, Dr. Jay , trackbackI called Jay at 4:45pm with a little used call in our house…Monday Mayday. I needed help and soon or I would strangle the crazy one who kicked, stepped on her sister and then scratched her in the face. Yes, Luna was on the warpath today. I don’t blame her since we were stuck at home waiting for the fridge guy to finish the repair. Apparently, "after noon" means anytime between 12 and 6pm. He came at 4:10pm.
So I was strangely domestic, washing, drying, folding AND putting away 4 loads of laundry, having the kids sort the toy box into "save" or "give away" piles. They were quite good at it, although I would have given away more than they did. We watched Diego, and played dress up, "baby, Mommy and Grandmother" (guess who was Grandmother?) and then had the Violent One go insane and attack her sister (it was over rice cakes, RICE CAKES)
Fortunately, Jay got home just in time to take them on an adventure while I make dinner. I hate cooking, but it’s a hell of alot easier than a Monday of kids.

Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde–oh yeah. Sorry the Violent One showed up. It’s always over something itty bitty.
And I’m laughing at “guess who was Grandmother?”, because that would so be my fate.
Here’s hoping tomorrow is easier.
Aren’t Monday’s just the worst? I swear it’s like they bottle it up and wait for Mondays to unleash it all. As I type this, one girl is stealing toys from her sister while the other one (or both?) scream “mama!” at the top of their shrill lungs. It’s been going on for hours. I am going to lose my mind if Rod doesn’t get home soon.
Big hugs to you my friend. Big huge ones.
I am having a lot of Mondays lately….adjusting to being home with them (which is not always the sunshine and roses I hoped it would be) has been draining, and knowing that D doesn’t get home until 7:45 (with bedtime being at
sucks.
I fear that Bones will be my Violent One, as he is a much more physical one than Coop. What is it about our 2nd born?
Although, this 3 1/2 business is tricky….Coop has been a bit of a moody bear lately, goign from the sweetest child on the planet to the most emotional sobbing, obstinant kiddo around. I keep reminding myself that he will outgrow this, but somedays (some hours) I just want to hide in the closet until bedtime!
