View from the hotel
We learned about the Ancient Hawaiians
We walked on the lava coast at the place of Refuge (ignore my thighs..)
We got sand in our shoes
We saw dolphins in captivity
and Humpback whales in the wild
We hiked down to a beautiful black sand beach at Waipio Valley
And we swam at the black beach
We even hiked back up again
We enjoyed a resort luau and made Dr. Jay dance with the hula guys
We drove across the Island to see a volcano in action
And to walk where the volcanoes had thrown their lava
And where it ran over a town
We saw the sea and the lava meet
All in all, I would say we had fun
Oh, and the meeting was A-okay!(note- Name tag…see it really was a meeting!)
Oh man that looks like fun! Our girls are just dying to go to Hawaii (Maui specifically, but that may or may not be because they like to say the word). By the way, I seriously gasped at how grown up your kiddos look in this post. Ack! Why are they all getting so big so fast?
Sigh. I am sooooo envious! That black beach is fascinating! And, yes, the girls look very big and grown up.
I know! Can you believe they are both in school and this summer is 8 & 6!!!! OMG! It goes fast!
Love the pictures! You look great, too. The girls are growing up so stinking fast.
Great pics! I miss Hawaii and can’t wait to go back. On a totally differetnt note…i know that you are on the long term allergy shots and since they have just been recommended to me I would be intrested in hearing your reaction and opinion on them. A friend of mine ended up in the hospital after a bad reaction so I am understandably nervous. I am sure you have a ton to do so no rush, but please do it in a private email if you get a chance. Thanks
Awesome pictures! I love them all. Looks awesome.
Wow. Awesome pictures…and man, I had no idea you were a curly red-head. From the dark hair of your daughters, I thought you’d be a brunette too. I am pleasantly surprised.
What a great opportunity for the girls to see Hawaii.
